Born in Novi Sad (Serbia), baritone Milan Perišic first studied composition at the Academy of Arts in his hometown, before training in singing at the Giuseppe Tartini Conservatory in Trieste. He has won First Prize at the international competitions “Compostela Lírica”, “Josep Palet”, “Les Corts” and “BA Lírica”, and Second Prize at “Nuevas Voces” (Seville), “Bellano, Paese degli Artisti” and “Ciudad de Logroño”.
In 2024 he made his debut as baritone soloist in Carmina Burana with the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla, and toured Spain with ADDA Simfònica and the Orfeón Donostiarra. That same year he sang Lescaut (Manon Lescaut) and Marcello (La bohème) in the Òpera de Catalunya season. In 2025 he takes on new roles including Député flamand (Don Carlo) at the Opéra National de Paris, Malatesta (Don Pasquale) at Teatre Principal de Palma, and Count Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) with the FÒC.
Also in 2025 he returns to Gran Teatre del Liceu as Bernardo in West Side Story, and notably participates in the European premiere of John Adams’s Antony & Cleopatra under the composer’s baton. At Teatro Real he has sung Lacayo, Ivan Ivanovich and Student in Barrie Kosky’s production of Shostakovich’s The Nose.
He has worked with conductors including Giacomo Sagripanti, Jordi Savall, Henrik Nánási, Mark Wigglesworth, Barrie Kosky, Elkhanah Pulitzer and Calixto Bieito.
