PRESENTATION

On 20th April, a spectacular Opera and Zarzuela Gala will bring together Juan Jesús Rodríguez and Graciela Moncloa as well as Manuel Burgueras and Maite Marín on an operatic tour of arias, ballads and popular scenes from Pagliacci, Gianni Schicchi, Don Carlos, Manon Lescaut, Nabucco, Los claveles, Luisa Fernanda, La revoltosa and La del manojo de rosas.

Juan Jesús Rodríguez is considered by critics and audiences to be one of the leading Verdian baritones of the current operatic scene.
He has recently received the award to the best male Verdian voice at the Tutto Verdi International Awards given by ABAO Bilbao Opera.
His career as lead baritone has taken him to the major temples of opera throughout the world.
A lover and staunch supporter of the Spanish repertoire, he has played the lead baritones of Spanish zarzuelas and operas in Teatro Nacional de la Zarzuela and in his tours all over Spain.

Graciela Moncloa is well-known in the theatrical world for the great quality of her voice as well as her acting skills.
Her long career in zarzuela and opera has taken her to the most important theatres in the world together with figures such as Juan Jesús Rodríguez, Alfredo Kraus, Montserrat Caballé and José Carreras, amongst others.
Likewise, she has collaborated with renowned stage and music directors and has participated in important Spanish operatic events.

Manuel Burgueras, disciple of the pianist Juan Carlos Arabián, started as a solo pianist and subsequently specialized as an accompanist under the guide of maestros Guillermo Opitz, Paul Schilhawsky and Erik Werba in the most prestigious concert halls in the world.
Regular accompanist of Montserrat Caballé for decades. He has numerous recordings and his record “Música Española para Piano y Voz del Siglo XIX” was nominated for the National Music Awards 2006.

Maite Marín is a writer, playwright, screenwriter, actress, dancer and stage director. Radio Theater Script Award from RNE and Caja Madrid, Audience Award at the Escènia Theater Festival and Audience Award at the Simulacro Festival. She is the director of Kiva Producciones and creator of the show “Lyrical comedy of opera and zarzuela.”

Biografía: Compositor y pianista
Su trabajo estrecho con el maestro Rubén Fernández Aguirre ha hecho posible que algunos de los nombres de la lírica española más reconocidos de los últimos años hayan interpretado sus arreglos y obras propias. Su relación con la música escénica, formando parte de diversas producciones, culminó con la composición de la ópera “Caperucita Blanca” para la temporada de Abao Txiki. Durante el verano de 2022 condujo la sección de música clásica del magazine “Entre Calles” de Radio Euskadi.
