VETA PILIPENKO

Mezzo-soprano Veta Pilipenko was born in Chelyabinsk (Russia) and graduated in Vocal and Theatre Arts at the GITIS University of Moscow in 2012. She subsequently moved to Italy, graduating with honours from the Florence Conservatoire and specialising at the Academy of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, where she made her debut with Rossini’s Stabat Mater.

She has appeared at theatres such as the Opéra national de Paris (Rigoletto), NDR Klassik Open Air in Hanover (Cavalleria rusticana), Teatro Regio di Parma (Federica in Luisa Miller, Mozart’s Requiem), Teatro Verdi in Trieste (Lucrezia Borgia, Anna Bolena), ABAO Bilbao Opera and the May Festival Wiesbaden (La clemenza di Tito), Teatro Lirico di Cagliari (Falstaff, Die Fledermaus, La bella dormente nel bosco) and Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (L’italiana in Algeri, Die Schöpfung with Zubin Mehta).

Her most recent roles include Maddalena in Rigoletto (Teatro Regio di Torino), Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus (Cagliari) and Smeton in Anna Bolena (Trieste).
