LUIS L脫PEZ NAVARRO

The M谩laga-born bass Luis L贸pez Navarro has established a distinguished operatic career after graduating with top honours in Singing from the M谩laga Conservatory under Alicia Molina. He also studied with Francisco Heredia, I帽aki Fres谩n, Carlos 脕lvarez, Carlos Chausson and Charles dos Santos, and was introduced to Baroque music by Dr Lynne Kurzeknabe. In 2014 he was awarded a prize at Marbella Crea鈥檚 Young Performers Exhibition.

He has appeared as a soloist at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Teatro Real, Teatro de la Zarzuela, Palau de les Arts, Teatro Campoamor, Teatro de la Maestranza, Teatro Villamarta, Gran Teatro de C贸rdoba, Teatro Col贸n in A Coru帽a, Teatre Principal de Ma贸, among many others. His oratorio repertoire includes Faur茅鈥檚 and Mozart鈥檚 Requiems, Gounod鈥檚 Messe solennelle and Puccini鈥檚 Messa di Gloria. His operatic roles include Oroveso (Norma), Fr猫re Laurent (Rom茅o et Juliette), Don Fernando (Fidelio), Angelotti (Tosca) and Bartolo (Le nozze di Figaro). He is also an active recitalist, having performed Schubert鈥檚 Winterreise, Schumann鈥檚 Dichterliebe and Vaughan Williams鈥檚 Songs of Travel.

He has collaborated with conductors such as Nicola Luisotti, Riccardo Frizza, Evelino Pid貌, Michele Mariotti, Pedro Halffter and Alain Guingal.
