MARIFÉ NOGALES

Born in Andoain, mezzo-soprano Marifé Nogales has appeared at the Teatro Real, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Teatro de la Zarzuela, Teatro de la Maestranza, Ópera de Oviedo, ABAO Bilbao Opera, Teatro Nacional de São Carlos (Lisbon) and Teatro Arriaga, and at festivals including the Quincena Musical Donostiarra, Granada and Peralada. She has worked with conductors such as Teodor Currentzis, Patrick Fournillier, Michele Mariotti, Jesús López Cobos, Ottavio Dantone, Vasily Petrenko and Alberto Zedda. Her repertoire ranges from Suzuki (Madama Butterfly) and Carmen to titles including La traviata, Rigoletto, Otello, Macbeth, L’italiana in Algeri, Thaïs, Jenůfa, Adriana Lecouvreur and Mirentxu. She has participated in premieres such as Miquel Ortega’s La casa de Bernarda Alba and in historic revivals including Manuel García’s L’isola disabitata. In zarzuela she has taken leading roles in Luisa Fernanda and La dolorosa. Recent and forthcoming engagements include Anna Bolena (Oviedo), Il trittico (ABAO), Amaya in concert (Quincena Musical) and A Midsummer Night’s Dream with the Basque National Orchestra.
