GABRIELA SALAVERRI

Born in Barcelona, Gabriela Salaverri trained in Fashion Design at the Escuela Superior de Diseño y Moda in Madrid. Her career spans an outstanding trajectory as a costume designer for opera, zarzuela, theatre and musicals, collaborating with major theatres and festivals both in Spain and abroad.

In the operatic field, she has created costumes for La verbena de la Paloma (Ópera XXI Award 2024, Teatro de la Zarzuela), Lucia di Lammermoor (Teatro Principal de Zaragoza), Adriana Lecouvreur (Teatro Cervantes), Hamlet (Teatro Campoamor), El sobre verde (Teatro de la Zarzuela), Faust (Teatro La Fenice), Otello (Opéra Royal de Wallonie), The Fairy Queen (Festival de Peralada), Benamor (Finalist, Premio Max 2021), Le nozze di Figaro (Opéra Royal de Wallonie), Les mamelles de Tirésias and La corte del faraón (Teatro Arriaga), and La bohème (Den Jyske Opera, Denmark).

Her theatre work includes productions such as Els Watson (TNC), Los Bufos Madrileños (CNTC), Justicia (ADE Adrià Gual Prize 2020), Naufragios (ADE Adrià Gual Prize 2020), Madre Coraje, El castigo sin venganza (ADE Adrià Gual Prize 2019), La dama duende, Los Gondra (ADE Adrià Gual Prize 2017) and Los otros Gondra (ADE Adrià Gual Prize 2019).

In the field of musicals, her credits include Godspell, Mamma Mia!, The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady and Man of La Mancha, among others. She has also worked in film, designing costumes for Savage Grace, directed by Tom Kalin and starring Julianne Moore and Eddie Redmayne.
