GABRIEL ALONSO

Born in Ferrol, Gabriel Alonso graduated from the Reina Sofía School of Music, earning notable recognition such as Third Prize at the Logroño International Competition (2019) and the award for his portrayal of Silvio in Pagliacci at the Capri Opera Festival (2022). Since his debut with Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Victoria Eugenia in San Sebastián, he has pursued an intense career in the operatic repertoire, performing leading roles such as Marcello (La bohème), Giorgio Germont (La traviata), Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia) and Malatesta (Don Pasquale), as well as appearing in Rigoletto in Málaga and Vigo, and in La forza del destino in A Coruña.

His versatility has also brought him to works such as La verbena de la Paloma, Carmen, Luisa Fernanda, La leyenda del beso and La tragédie de Carmen, the latter at the Al Bustan Festival in Beirut. He collaborates with conductors such as Víctor Pablo Pérez, Gianluca Marcianò and Gianpaolo Bisanti, and has taken part in premieres including Dúas cantigas by Xabier de Paz with the Real Filharmonía de Galicia.

In the symphonic and chamber repertoire, he has performed works such as Carmina Burana, Fauré’s Requiem, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Saint-Saëns’s Oratorio de Noël and Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder. His recent and upcoming engagements include Dido and Aeneas at the Teatre Principal de Palma, the recital Esencias Gallegas at the Teatro de la Zarzuela, Carmen in A Coruña and Rigoletto at the Ópera de Oviedo.
