ÁNGEL ÓDENA

Baritone Àngel Òdena has built a distinguished international career, performing more than fifty roles in the world’s leading opera houses. A specialist in the Verdian repertoire, he has sung characters such as Nabucco, Macbeth, Iago, Paolo, Giorgio Germont, Conte di Luna, Rigoletto, Amonasro, Falstaff and Ford, on stages including the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Staatsoper Berlin, Teatro Real, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and Arena di Verona.

His versatility extends to the verismo repertoire, where he has triumphed as Sharpless, Scarpia, Alfio, Tonio, Marcello, Michele and Guglielmo, as well as to French repertoire with acclaimed portrayals of Escamillo, Albert, Athanaël, Mercutio and Le Grand Prêtre. He is also recognised as one of the foremost zarzuela interpreters of his generation, contributing to the genre’s international reach.

His discography includes Pagliacci, Il viaggio a Reims, Katiuska and Falla’s La vida breve for Deutsche Grammophon. In the coming months he returns to Gran Teatre del Liceu, Opéra de Nice, Teatro Campoamor and Teatro de la Zarzuela.
