Andrea Ledda is Head of Stage Lighting at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, where he pursues an extensive career as a lighting designer. In 1997 and 1998 he worked on the creation and installation of the lighting system for the celebrated production of Aida in Cairo. Since then, he has designed or restaged the lighting for numerous productions in major theatres and festivals.
His work includes Pagliacci directed by Gabriele Lavia (original lighting by Andrea Anfossi), Madama Butterfly by Keita Asari (lighting by Marco Filibeck), Don Pasquale by Antonio Albanese (lighting by Paolo Mazzon), L鈥檈lisir d鈥檃more by Michele Mirabella (lighting by Franco Angelo Ferrari), in Cagliari and on tour at the Royal Opera House Muscat, and Il barbiere di Siviglia by Filippo Crivelli (lighting by Valerio Tiberi).
As principal designer, he has created the lighting for productions such as L鈥檃mico Fritz (Gianni Marras), La vedova allegra (Blas Roca Rey), Pagliacci (Paolo Gavazzeni and Piero Maranghi), Gloria (Antonio Albanese) and Adriana Lecouvreur (Mario Pontiggia). More recently, he designed the new production of L鈥檈lisir d鈥檃more at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, staged by Marco Nateri as part of the cycle Un鈥橧sola di Musica.
