Orquesta Sinfonica de Navarra

Orquesta Sinfónica De Navarra

Orchestra

Founded in 1879 by Pablo Sarasate, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra is the longest-standing symphonic ensemble currently active in Spain. Today it forms part of Fundación Baluarte and serves as the official orchestra of the Chartered Community of Navarre. Since September 2022 its Music Director and Artistic Director has been Perry So.

Throughout its history, the Orchestra has been invited by leading concert halls, opera seasons and festivals in Spain and abroad. It presents an annual subscription series at the Auditorio Baluarte in Pamplona, the Teatro Gaztambide in Tudela and at the Centro Cultural Tafalla Kulturgunea.

The OSN also undertakes significant social and educational work across Navarre through cycles such as Andante and other initiatives in collaboration with public and private institutions.

In addition to its official commitments as Navarre’s symphonic ambassador, the Orchestra regularly records film soundtracks and albums. Recent collaborations include projects with composers Jorge Grundman, Federico Jusid and Laura Vega.

Since 2019 it has collaborated with AMAEN (Navarre’s Archive of Music and Performing Arts), enriching the Fonoteca Navarra with heritage works and new creations by Navarrese composers.
