Jessica Pratt
Born in England and raised in Australia, Jessica Pratt is regarded as one of the leading sopranos in the bel canto repertoire. After studying in Italy, she furthered her training with Renata Scotto and Gianluigi Gelmetti at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, and now prepares her roles with Lella Cuberli. Since her European debut in 2007 as Lucia di Lammermoor, she has appeared at major theatres and festivals including the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Arena di Verona, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Staatsoper Hamburg, Teatro Real Madrid, Teatro alla Scala, Teatro di San Carlo, the Metropolitan Opera and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. She has worked with conductors such as Carlo Rizzi, Daniel Oren, Daniele Gatti, Gustavo Dudamel, Ivor Bolton, Kent Nagano, Marc Minkowski, Riccardo Frizza, Roberto Abbado, Sir Colin Davis and Zubin Mehta. Her repertoire comprises 48 roles, with Lucia Ashton, Amina and Elvira among her most frequently performed parts. Her discography includes recordings of works by Rossini, Vaccaj, Bellini and Donizetti, as well as her solo album Serenade. Her awards include La Siola d’Oro “Lina Pagliughi” and the Oscar della Lirica for best soprano.
