Born in Barcelona, Albert Faura studied Lighting Design at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona and completed an international theatre lighting course organised by the British Council in London. Throughout his career he has collaborated with directors including Josep Maria Flotats, Sergi Belbel, Bigas Luna, Nicolas Joel, Marco Antonio Marelli and Emilio Sagi; with set designers such as Ezio Frigerio, Antonio Andújar, Paco Azorín, Montse Amenós, Frederic Amat and Daniel Bianco; and with choreographers including Cesc Gelabert and Ramon Oller. His work has been presented at institutions such as the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, Festival Grec de Barcelona, Teatro Real Madrid, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Washington National Opera, Opéra national de Paris, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and Houston Grand Opera, among others. He has received several awards for his artistic work. His recent opera and zarzuela credits include Salome at Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Pepita Jiménez and La rosa del azafrán at Teatro de la Zarzuela, Otello in Bilbao, Marina, La verbena de la Paloma, La bella Susona, La traviata, Trato de favor and La torre de Nadal. In musical theatre, he has worked on productions such as Groundhog Day, Mar i cel and The Producers.
