Santiago Ballerini
Italian-Argentinian tenor Santiago Ballerini is regarded as one of today’s leading interpreters of the bel canto repertoire. He has appeared at venues including the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Kennedy Center in Washington, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Canadian Opera Company, Teatro Regio di Torino, Arena di Verona, Opéra National de Bordeaux, Teatro Real and Gran Teatre del Liceu. In the 2025/26 season he makes his debut at the Royal Danish Opera as Ernesto in Don Pasquale and at the Donizetti Opera Festival in Bergamo in Il furioso nell’isola di Santo Domingo. He will also make his debut at the Opéra de Marseille as Count Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia, one of his signature roles, and will perform Paisiello’s opera of the same title for the first time in concert with the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, conducted by Lucas Macías. He also returns to the Gran Teatre del Liceu as Fenton in Falstaff and stars in Javier Carmena’s contemporary zarzuela El orgullo de quererte, conducted by Alondra de la Parra. His repertoire also includes Don Narciso, Lindoro, Nemorino, Tonio and Fernando in Doña Francisquita.
