Rubén Amoretti possesses a wide-ranging and versatile bass-baritone voice, with a bright timbre and a commanding stage presence. His powerful vocalism, refined musicality and theatrical qualities have enabled him to perform a broad repertoire, including roles such as Don Giovanni, Filippo II, Mefistofele, Leporello, Mustafà, Zaccaria, Dulcamara, Raimondo, Ferrando, Sparafucile, Colline, Scarpia and Capulet, among others. Trained in Switzerland and the United States, he refined his vocal technique with Dennis Hall, Carlos Montané and Nicolai Gedda. He has received prizes at international singing competitions in Bilbao, Logroño, Bloomington and Palermo.

His career has taken him to stages in New York, Bern, Moscow, Zurich, Stuttgart, Vienna, Geneva, Palm Beach, Paris, Prague, Mexico City, Rome, Madrid, Barcelona and Seville. He has worked with conductors including Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Pinchas Steinberg, Bruno Bartoletti, Marcello Viotti, Nello Santi, Zubin Mehta, Alberto Zedda, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Ramón Tebar, Karel Mark Chichon and Víctor Pablo Pérez. Particularly associated with the Spanish lyric repertoire, he is a regular guest at Teatro de la Zarzuela, where he has appeared in titles such as El gato montés, Marina, Black el payaso, Juan José, La villana, El rey que rabió, Circe and La tabernera del puerto.
