Ketevan Kemoklidze
Born in Tbilisi (Georgia), Ketevan Kemoklidze is one of today’s most sought-after mezzo-sopranos, admired for vocal quality, stage presence and interpretative versatility. She studied at the V. Sarajishvili National Conservatoire and the Accademia of Teatro alla Scala, and is a laureate of major competitions including Operalia, Viñas, Belvedere, Obraztsova and Toulouse. She has performed at many of the world’s leading venues—Teatro alla Scala, Royal Opera House, Teatro Real, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Deutsche Oper Berlin and Rhein, La Fenice, Teatro Regio di Parma and Torino, Teatro Massimo Palermo and Catania, Arena di Verona, Semperoper Dresden, Washington National Opera, LA Opera, Teatro Municipal de Santiago, Teatro de la Zarzuela, Teatro de la Maestranza, Mariinsky Theatre, Berliner Philharmoniker, New National Theatre Tokyo, Opéra de Québec, Teatro Verdi, Opéra d’Avignon, Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Malmö Opera, Israeli Opera, Oper Graz, and the Teatr Wielki, among many others. Festival appearances include Spoleto, Macerata, MITO, Wexford, Sanxay, Tsinandali, the Quincena Musical and the Maifestspiele. She excels in opera, chamber music and symphonic repertoire, and portrayed Adriana Ferrarese in Carlos Saura’s film Io, Don Giovanni.
