Iván López-reynoso
Iván López Reynoso, conductor born in Guanajuato in 1990, is one of the most distinguished Mexican baton holders of his generation. His solid musicianship and artistic temperament have led him to collaborate with leading institutions in Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Peru, Oman and Italy, as well as with internationally renowned artists such as Bryn Terfel, Brigitte Fassbaender, Ildar Abdrazakov, Javier Camarena, Rolando Villazón, Ute Lemper, Ramón Vargas, Irina Lungu and John Osborn, among others.
He has conducted ensembles including the Philharmonia Zürich, the Spanish National Orchestra, the Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra, the Madrid Symphony Orchestra, the Oviedo Filarmonía, the Orchestra of the Palacio de Bellas Artes, the Mexican National Symphony Orchestra, the Minería Symphony and the UNAM Philharmonic, performing in venues such as Opernhaus Zürich, Teatro Real in Madrid, Santa Fe Opera, The Dallas Opera, The Atlanta Opera, Rossini Opera Festival, Donizetti Opera Festival, Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville and the Royal Opera House Muscat.
A specialist in the operatic repertoire, he made his debut with Le nozze di Figaro at the age of twenty and has since conducted more than fifty titles, among them Aida, Der fliegende Holländer, Carmen, La bohème, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Don Carlo, Tosca, Werther, La cenerentola, Il viaggio a Reims and Viva la mamma. In 2014 he was selected for the Accademia of the Rossini Opera Festival, working alongside Alberto Zedda. He has held positions such as Kapellmeister of the Staatstheater Braunschweig, Artistic Director of the Orchestra of the Palacio de Bellas Artes and Principal Guest Conductor of the Oviedo Filarmonía. In June 2025 he was appointed Principal Conductor of The Atlanta Opera.
