Ismael Jordi

Spanish tenor Ismael Jordi was born in Jerez de la Frontera and studied at the Reina Sofía School of Singing in Madrid with Maestro Alfredo Kraus and Teresa Berganza. He launched his international career in 2002 and has since appeared at many of the world’s leading opera houses, including the Opéra de Paris, Staatsoper Berlin, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Semperoper Dresden, Volksoper Vienna, Rome Opera, Teatro Real Madrid, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Bavarian State Opera in Munich, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London and the Metropolitan Opera in New York. His international engagements have also taken him to Tokyo, Seoul, Montreal, Hamburg, Valencia, Amsterdam, Bilbao, Verona, Naples, Venice, Zurich, Athens and the Orange Festival. His repertoire includes roles in La traviata, Lucia di Lammermoor, Linda di Chamounix, Roberto Devereux, Lucrezia Borgia, Rigoletto, Faust and Manon. Upcoming projects include Roberto Devereux and Lucia di Lammermoor in Bilbao, Roméo et Juliette in Madrid and Brussels, and Lucrezia Borgia in Las Palmas. His recordings include Martha, La traviata, Stabat Mater and Le duc d’Albe.
