Carla Filipcic-Holm *

Born in Buenos Aires, soprano Carla Filipcic studied at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes, the Instituto Superior de Arte of the Teatro Colón and later in Germany and France. Her awards include the Clarín Revelation Prize in Classical Music and the 2019 Konex Award for Best Female Singer of the Decade. Supported by the María Marta Sánchez Elía de Núñez scholarships, she specialised in German repertoire with Siegfried Jerusalem and Reiner Goldberg in Germany, becoming the first Argentinian soprano to perform, both in her home country and abroad, roles such as the Marschallin in Der Rosenkavalier, Isolde in Tristan und Isolde, Marietta in Die tote Stadt and Elisabeth in Tannhäuser. Her wide-ranging repertoire also includes Agrippina, Così fan tutte, Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, La clemenza di Tito, Idomeneo, Don Carlo, The Rape of Lucretia, The Consul, Eugene Onegin, Suor Angelica, Der Freischütz, Fidelio, Ariadne auf Naxos and Die lustige Witwe. She is also highly active in recital and symphonic repertoire, performing works by Mahler, Wagner, Richard Strauss, Beethoven and Brahms. Recent appearances include solo performances at Carnegie Hall and David Geffen Hall in New York, the Kunsthalle in Vienna and Queen Elisabeth Hall in Antwerp.
