Trained at the Arrigo Boito Conservatoire in Parma, Angelo Villari continued his studies with Alain Charles Billard at the Toscanini Foundation. His career has taken him to houses such as Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro Filarmonico di Verona, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro di San Carlo in Naples and the Staatsoper Berlin.

A specialist in the Italian repertoire, he has sung leading roles in Puccini (Madama Butterfly, Turandot, La fanciulla del West, Tosca), Verdi (Il trovatore, La forza del destino, Un ballo in maschera, Aida, Luisa Miller), as well as Pagliacci, Cavalleria rusticana, Lucia di Lammermoor and Guglielmo Ratcliff. He has appeared at the Verdi Festival in Parma in Luisa Miller and returned to Teatro Regio for Il corsaro, Lucia di Lammermoor, the Requiem and Madama Butterfly.

Notable engagements include La donna serpente (opening the Festival della Valle d’Itria), Guglielmo Ratcliff at Wexford Festival, I Shardana, La campana sommersa and La Ciociara at Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Un ballo in maschera at the Rome Opera and Madama Butterfly at Teatro San Carlo. His discography includes I Shardana (Dynamic), La donna serpente (Bongiovanni), Guglielmo Ratcliff (RTÉ Lyric) and La campana sommersa (Arthaus).
