Founded in 2014 by Txori García Uriz and Ion Barbarin Lisarri, AMICO TEATRO has developed a distinctive theatrical language combining physical and gestural theatre, humour and dance. Since its creation, the company has produced original work and appeared in numerous venues and festivals, including Umore Azoka in Leioa, the Araia Festival of Humour, Kaldearte in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the Barakaldo Street Theatre Festival, Sopela Kosta Fest and Pamplona’s Festival de las Murallas. Alongside its stage work, AMICO TEATRO also undertakes educational activities through workshops and other training projects. In the field of opera, the company provided the stage direction for El flautista de Hamelin, a family production by Ópera de Cámara de Navarra.
