Asmik Grigorian *
Lithuanian soprano Asmik Grigorian is hailed as “one of the fiercest dramatic talents in the field” (The New York Times), admired for a striking voice and remarkable versatility. A regular guest at the Wiener Staatsoper, The Metropolitan Opera, the Salzburg Festival and Teatro alla Scala, she was a founding member of Vilnius City Opera. Her awards include two Golden Stage Crosses, Best Female Lead at the Austrian Music Theater Awards (2019), Ópera XXI’s Female Opera Singer of the Year (2022) and Opus Klassik’s Female Singer of the Year (2023). In 2024 she received the Österreichischer Musiktheaterpreis (Special Jury Prize) and in 2025 the Der Faust prize for her acclaimed Salome in Hamburg. In 2025/26 she returns to Teatro Real Madrid as Desdemona (Otello) and appears as Cio-Cio San, Salome, Lady Macbeth, Manon Lescaut and Tatiana. In recital she partners pianist Lukas Geniušas; her Alpha Classics releases include Dissonance and Laws of Solitude. She also presents Una Diva is Born.
