Lucía Iglesias

Soprano

Lucía Iglesias is one of the most promising young Spanish sopranos of her generation. She made her professional debut in 2019 with Rossini’s La Cenerentola in the Òpera a Catalunya circuit, beginning a steadily rising career that has taken her to major venues across Spain and Italy, including Teatro Real in Madrid, Teatro Mancinelli in Orvieto, Auditorio de Galicia, Palacio de la Ópera and Teatro Colón in A Coruña, as well as Teatre Romea in Barcelona.

Her most notable roles include Adina (L’elisir d’amore), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Nannetta (Falstaff), Musetta (La Bohème) and Clorinda (La Cenerentola), performances praised for the brightness and flexibility of her voice, her stage charm and her refined theatrical instinct. After debuting Adina and Nannetta at Teatro Mancinelli in the summer of 2025, she will make her ABAO Bilbao Opera debut in January 2026 as Sophie in Massenet’s Werther.

She has collaborated with conductors such as Víctor Pablo Pérez, José Miguel Pérez-Sierra, Giuseppe Finzi, Diego Martin-Etxebarria, Vittorio Parisi and Daniel Gil de Tejada, and with stage directors including Graham Vick, Anna Ponces, Renato Bonajuto, Daniele Piscopo, Gabriella Ravazzi and Miquel Gorriz. Her early training with the Children’s and Youth Choir of the Galicia Symphony Orchestra, where she also performed as a soloist, brought her into contact with distinguished maestros such as Ton Koopman, Dima Slobodeniuk, Carlos Mena and Miguel Ángel Gómez Martínez.

A prizewinner in competitions such as the Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition, Clara Schumann Competition and Compostela Lírica, she has received guidance from renowned singers including Lisette Oropesa, Mariella Devia, Nadine Sierra and Deborah Polaski. She also studied piano and is currently pursuing a PhD in Music at the Universidad Internacional de La Rioja. Her passion for opera began at the age of eight, when she was selected to appear in Werther at the A Coruña Mozart Festival—an experience that marked the beginning of her artistic journey.
