Vincent Dujardin *
Belgian director Vincent Dujardin graduated in dramatic arts from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels. An actor and, above all, a stage director, he has worked with various theatres and companies. As part of the celebrations marking the reopening of the Royal Opera of Wallonia, he directed Grétry’s L’Officier de fortune, based on an unpublished score. He also narrated Grétry’s Zémire et Azor and, in 2021, directed Ursule et Hirsute, an opera for young audiences. In 2023 he staged Rossini’s The Barber of Seville at the Royal Opera of Wallonia. He subsequently adapted and directed La belle et franche aventure de Petit-Guillaume, based on Rossini’s Guillaume Tell, and in 2025 directed Mozart’s Così fan tutte. In 2026 he adds Kurt Weill’s The Threepenny Opera to his repertoire. Closely associated with the classical repertoire, he has directed plays by Shakespeare, Molière, Goldoni, Hugo, Musset, Feydeau, Maeterlinck, Strindberg, Brecht and Ionesco, while also showing a strong interest in contemporary authors such as Ayckbourn, Calaferte, Horovitz, Reza, Pommerat and Lagarce. He holds a degree in Performing Arts from the Centre for Theatre Studies in Louvain-la-Neuve and teaches opera at IMEP in Namur.
