Irresistibly opera
ABAO Bilbao Opera and the BBVA Foundation, the season’s main sponsor, contribute to fostering excellence and operatic culture, bringing audiences performances of the highest quality.
Well-known titles from the Italian repertoire, such as Don Pasquale and Otello, are combined with less frequently performed works from the French repertoire, such as La Favorite, presented as an ABAO premiere; the German repertoire with Tristan und Isolde; and, to mark the centenary of Puccini’s death, Il Trittico—Il Tabarro, Suor Angelica, and Gianni Schicchi—performed at ABAO for the first time.
