Mezzo-soprano

An internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano, Annalisa Stroppa has established herself as one of the most celebrated Italian voices on today’s operatic scene.

She made her debut in 2011 as Cherubino in I Due Figaro by Mercadante, under the baton of Riccardo Muti at the Salzburg Festival, and since then has performed in the world’s leading opera houses, including La Scala in Milan, the Wiener Staatsoper, the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Hamburg Staatsoper, the Opéra national de Paris, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Teatro Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Regio di Torino, Arena di Verona, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Tel Aviv Opera, the Monte Carlo Opera, Chorégies d’Orange, Teatro Real in Madrid, and the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, among others. She has collaborated with conductors such as Roberto Abbado, Riccardo Chailly, Marco Armiliato, Riccardo Frizza, Gianandrea Noseda, Myung-Whun Chung, Pablo Heras-Casado, Ramón Tebar, Pinchas Steinberg, Zubin Mehta, Daniel Oren, Christian Thielemann, and Teodor Currentzis.

Her recent engagements include Saint-Saëns’ Requiem at the Ljubljana Winter Festival, Verdi’s Requiem at the Berlin Philharmonie, Udine and Venice, Léonor (La Favorite) in Bergamo and Bordeaux, Carmen in São Paulo, Suzuki (Madama Butterfly) at the Liceu, Romeo (I Capuleti e i Montecchi) in Brescia, Giovanna Seymour (Anna Bolena) and Sara (Roberto Devereux) in Naples, Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia) in Cagliari and Trieste, Charlotte (Werther) in Dortmund, Bologna and Buenos Aires, and Preziosilla (La forza del destino) at Zurich Opera. She made her debut at ABAO Bilbao Opera in 2016 as Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia.
