Graduated as a professional dancer at La Scala in Milan, Luigia Frattaroli developed a distinguished stage career at Teatro alla Scala, the Rome Opera, Arena di Verona and Graz Opera, performing soloist roles in both classical and contemporary repertoire.

As a choreographer, stage director and assistant director, she has worked at Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Ópera de Tenerife, Teatro de la Maestranza, Opéra de Saint-Étienne, Teatro del Giglio and other leading theatres. Her credits include productions such as La bella addormentata with the Kirov Ballet, Les Nuits with Ballet Preljocaj, Le Corsaire, La traviata, Falstaff, Evgenij Onegin, La bella dormente nel bosco, Le nozze di Figaro, Carmen, Pagliacci, Rigoletto, Don Giovanni, Attila, Hänsel und Gretel, La vedova allegra, Manon Lescaut, Norma, La bohème, Ariadne auf Naxos, Adriana Lecouvreur, Die Fledermaus and many more.

She has collaborated with directors such as Karl-Ernst and Ursel Herrmann, Eimuntas Nekrošius, Daniele Abbado, Patrice Caurier, Moshe Leiser, Leo Muscato, Francesca Zambello, Pier Francesco Maestrini and Nicola Berloffa, among others. She also teaches stagecraft masterclasses at the Conservatorio Verdi in Milan.
