The tenor Josu Cabrero Antolín, born in Leioa (Bizkaia), has built a solid artistic career supported by a thorough academic and musical education. He holds degrees in Music Education and Primary Education from the University of Burgos, and professional diplomas in Singing and Piano from the Rafael Frühbeck Conservatory in Burgos and the Francisco Escudero Conservatory in Donostia. He completed advanced vocal studies at Musikene and has furthered his training with artists such as Ana Luisa Chova, David Menéndez, Eduardo López Banzo, Lawrence Brownlee, Ana María Sánchez, Carlos Mena, Javier Camarena and Enzo Spatola.

He has sung roles in Le nozze di Figaro, Madama Butterfly, Die Zauberflöte, Dido and Aeneas, Les contes d’Hoffmann, I Puritani, Hamlet, La bohème, Rigoletto and Il trittico, at theatres including Teatro Arriaga, Baluarte, Ópera de Oviedo and ABAO Bilbao Opera. His concert repertoire includes Monteverdi’s Magnificat, Buxtehude’s Membra Jesu Nostri, Handel’s Messiah and Schubert’s Winterreise.

Recent highlights include Rigoletto, Il tabarro and Gianni Schicchi at ABAO, El naufragio de Burgos, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Tristan und Isolde, Macbeth, Bruckner’s Te Deum, El fresco de Goya by Moreno-Buendía, and Real de Llorente, showcasing his versatility across both stage and concert repertoire.
