Hailed as one of today’s leading Verdi baritones, Juan Jesús Rodríguez won Best Male Voice (Ópera Siglo XXI, 2024) and Best Male Verdian Voice at the Tutto Verdi International Awards (2023), presented by ABAO.

He has appeared on many of the world’s foremost stages, including the Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House, Los Angeles Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, San Carlo di Napoli, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Rome Opera, Marseille, Teatro Real, the Liceu, Palau de les Arts, Teatro de la Maestranza and the Euskalduna, collaborating with renowned conductors and directors.

His signature roles include Rigoletto, Nabucco, Macbeth, Simone Boccanegra, Conte di Luna, Germont, Iago, Rodrigo (Don Carlo), Renato, Ezio, Miller, Montforte, Ford, Don Giovanni, Enrico, Riccardo (I puritani), Nottingham (Roberto Devereux) and the Count in Le nozze di Figaro. A passionate advocate of Spanish repertoire, he has sung the principal baritone roles of zarzuela and Spanish opera at the Teatro de la Zarzuela and on extensive national tours.
